Meet Aisha

I’m running to represent District 40A in the Minnesota House of Representatives because this community has shaped who I am, and I want every family here to have opportunities to thrive.

I’ve called Arden Hills home for almost 15 years, and it’s where my husband and I are raising our kids, who are now 12 and 8. I am a graduate of Mounds View High School and former Shoreview resident. My husband grew up in New Brighton and graduated from Irondale High School. We have deep roots in this community.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked to make life better for Minnesotans. I’ve built my career working across nonprofit, business, and government sectors. I’ve led statewide collaborations to improve education, health care, transportation, and employment opportunities. As a public service lawyer, I have helped families navigate complex systems and access housing and needed care. That work has given me a deep understanding of how our policies impact our communities and what’s possible when people come together to solve problems.

I’ve engaged with Minnesotans around the state, hearing their stories, challenges, and hopes in areas like supporting themselves as they age, navigating disability services, or struggling to find jobs and affordable, reliable health care. As a past member of the Minnesota Association of Professional Employees (MAPE) and the Middle Management Association (MMA), I experienced firsthand the difference strong unions make for working families. These experiences strengthen my resolve to fight for families facing rising costs and to protect the rights and supports that keep our communities strong.

I graduated from Mounds View High School and Carleton College, obtained my law degree from the University of Michigan, and completed the Policy Fellows program at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs at the University of Minnesota. I am a dedicated public servant who, as your representative, would be committed to listening to you and working hard for the people who call this district home.
